CIRCE

MAGICAL. SEDUCTIVE. POWERFUL

CIRCE

The Spell of Circe: Odysseus' Trial on Aeaea

On his long journey home to Ithaca, the cunning hero Odysseus and his companions end up on the mysterious island of Aiaia, home of the powerful sorceress Circe. The shimmering figure of the witch lures the men into her magical house, where the travelers' fate changes dramatically.

Circe, surrounded by an aura of seduction, reveals her true nature by turning Odysseus' companions into pigs. But Odysseus, clever and advised by Hermes, resists her spell. Determined to save his team, he bravely faces Circe.

Odysseus' cunning surpasses Circe's magic. Through his cleverness he manages to reverse their magic and his men return to human form. Circe, impressed by Odysseus's resilience, eventually becomes an ally. She gives him insights into his further adventures and shows him the way through the dangerous waters.

The Metamorphosis of Glaucus

Glaucus was a fisherman who discovered an enchanted type of grass that he used on his fishing boats. When he tried to cast an ornate spell with it, a fish fell into the sea and became a dolphin. The fish was a former sailor named Scylla, who refused to return to his human form.

Glaucus, desperate and overwhelmed by love, sought the help of the sorceress Circe. In her seductive way, Circe tried to win Glaucus, but he was only interested in Scylla. In a fit of jealousy and anger, Circe splashed the waters in which Scylla was bathing with a magic potion that transformed the sea nymph. Instead of returning Glaucus' love, Scylla was transformed into a terrible monster with twelve legs and six heads.

Circe is not a goddess, but a sorceress and witch

She is the daughter of the sun god Helios and the Oceanid Perseis. Although she is of divine descent, Circe is not one of the Olympian gods who form the pinnacle of the Greek pantheon.

However, Circe has supernatural abilities and is known for her power of transformation, which allows her to transform humans into animals.

Circe in Greek mythology

Circe's unique blend of divine parentage, supernatural abilities, human emotions, and role as an examiner make her a fascinating figure in Greek mythology.

"Circe, born of the sun and the waves, weaves the threads of fate with a smile and reveals the truth behind the masks of transformation."
